Yelo Mt Hawthorn has captured the history of Perth’s market garden era in a trans-formed iconic home in Mt Hawthorn. Built in the 1930’s with a shopfront attached to the home, is where Ya-Ya cooked up a storm for the neighbourhood on her Metters wood fired stove. The shopfront was a room attached to the house facing Oxford St, where fresh fruit and vegetables were sold to the locals.

The restored site honours the original occupants by preserving Grandma’s stove and the original fireplace, while bringing a modern urban vibe to Oxford St. Restoring the front of the original house, using recycled Jarrah floor boards and solid red brick pavers to honour the past, Yelo Mt Hawthorn’s offerings are keeping with the Yelo theme of community spirit, local, fresh, homemade produce and local deli items.

Yelo Mt Hawthorn’s kitchen provides hot fresh baked goods in house all day, sweet and savoury muffins are to die for and packed with wholesome flavours. Fresh made wraps, rolls, slices, salads as well as a selection of baked goods flowing all day straight from the kitchen.

Of course Yelo Mt hawthorn serves Yelo’s signature coffee blend as well as teas, live juices, smoothies, bowls and daily specials to the upbeat sounds of the in-store music playlist.
